Our nursing students are preparing for a life of caring for others. They come to the School of Nursing with a desire to learn, serve, and make a difference in the lives of patients, families, and communities. Along the way, many are also balancing work, family responsibilities, and the financial demands of pursuing a rigorous nursing education. Sometimes, an unexpected circumstance such as a car repair, childcare expense, loss of income, or family emergency can create a significant barrier at a critical point in a student’s journey. The Nursing Benevolence Fund allows us to come alongside students in these moments with compassionate, timely support. The fund can also help make meaningful nursing and transcultural learning experiences more accessible when financial circumstances might otherwise limit a student’s ability to participate.

Sometimes, a helping hand at just the right moment can make all the difference.
